"We blocked the SMS service on the instructions of the director general of police, who cited security reasons for the disruption" says Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), general manager, Mahesh Shukla.

Looking at the tense situation in Jammu Kashmir on the fourth day of violence, curfew is still imposed in Sopore and various part of valley, while movement of civilians has been restricted in many parts of Srinagar.
