Mumbai, Jun 28: Long Term Evolution (LTE) research is set to get a major boost as L&T Infotech, one of the fastest growing IT Services companies, is collaborating with Broadband Wireless Consortium of India (BWCI) for developing an LTE Radio Access Test Bed.
L&T Infotech on Monday, Jun 28 announced their cooperation with BWCI, which aims at creating a technology demonstrator platform and accelerating the time-to-market for LTE technology providers.
As part of this program, L&T Infotech would be integrating its LTE UE stack with BWCI"s LTE Radio Access Test Bed. This integrated system can be used by technology providers to demonstrate and evaluate end-to-end LTE functionality, L&T said in a statement.

This further strengthens our commitment to provide high quality solutions in the telecom space and to enable our clients deliver world-class products," commented Mr Sudip Banerjee, Chief Executive Officer, L&T Infotech.
L&T Infotech had previously announced the availability of LTE UE protocol stack, compliant to Mar 2009 3GPP Release 8, LTE specifications, as part of their IP portfolio.
Responding to the beginning of the cooperation, Dr Bhaskar Ramamurthi, the Chairman of BWCI said, “BWCI is delighted to collaborate with L&T Infotech, which has a strong portfolio of telecom engineering services and has long-term focus on 4G technologies like LTE and WiMAX."
