Malaysia's Democratic Action Party urged to revive Indian bureau
Kuala Lumpur, June 26(ANI): A veteran Indian-origin Democratic Action Party (DAP) leader has urged the party leadership to revive its Indian bureau so that it can effectively tackle the problems faced by the community.
DAP Deputy Chairman J. Apalasamy said that the bureau would enable the grassroots to convey their grievances to the party leadership directly.
He also said that DAP Chairman Karpal Singh or Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng should chair the meeting to listen to bureau leaders from various states, The Star reports.
The Indian bureau was started by late P. Patto, and had been instrumental in nominating Indians to contest as DAP candidates in previous general elections. (ANI)
