Paraguay's coach Gerardo Martino was happy to enter the second round but unhappy with his team's performance. "We played very badly in the first half and we played better in the second half," he said after the match.
"We're very happy to have qualified but it was a very difficult game, The game got boring because they were so defensive. In a game like this you expect to win but the important thing is we qualified." said the Paraguay striker Roque Santa Cruz.
With this game New Zealand was knocked out of the FIFA World Cup 2010 but they won their first points in the FIFA World Cup, and finished the group undefeated and in front of four-time world champions Italy.
