Lahore, Jun 24: Younis Khan, the Pakistani Batsman has not been selected for the upcoming England- Pakistan Test Series between Jun and Sep, 2010 due to lack of practice and several past disciplinary problems.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had issued ban on three Pakistani cricketers along with Younis Khan during the tour of Australia in 2009-10. From that time he is out of the team.
Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has said that he desperately wanted senior batsman Younis Khan in the squad for the upcoming Test series in England.
"One must understand I don't alone pick the team, input of the coach and selectors is also involved in this process," Afridi said on the player selection procedure for the team.
"I wanted Younis to be in the team but besides the issue of his recent form there was also a bit of disciplinary issue with him," said Afridi.
Pakistan will first play with Australia in two Twenty20 internationals and two Tests, followed by four Tests, two Twenty20s and five ODIs against England. The squad for the ODIs has not been named as yet.
The Pakistani Skeeper, however, said that he was satisfied with the team that was picked up for the Asia Cup and also for the Test series against Australia and hosts England.
Though Pakistan managed to win only one match in the Asia Cup, the flashy all rounder said he was satisfied with his team's performance in the quadrangular tournament.
