New law soon on honour killing: Veerappa Moily
New Delhi,Jun 23: Union Law Minister Veerappa Moily said that government would implement the new law against honour killing soon. He was talking to a TV channel while he said that government is always against honour killings, but it would be willing to listen to their demands.
Moily said that each one has the right to his own opinion. Government will recognise personal laws but will never justify honour killings, he added.
UPA government will back khaps on social welfare programmes if they don't get involved in honour killing cases. Government is set to bring new law on honour killings, he added.
Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda had said that neither Haryana government or Congress will never support honour killings. Congress party made its stand clear that violence and murder can never be condoned.
