Kishenji knew of Jhargram train attack: Bapi

Kolkata, Jun 22: Bapi Mahato, Maoist leader and main accused in Jnaneshwari train attack in West Bengal claimed that the top Maoist leader Kishenji was aware of the plot, on Tuesday, Jun 22. Bapi was arrested by the joined operation of CBI officials, West Bengal police and Jharkhand police. Bapi was sent to CBI custody.

Kishenji had claimed that his outfit was not involved in Jhargram train derailment which claimed 148 lives. His statement came on Tuesday, Jun 22.

“We were not involved in the derailment of the Jnaneswari Express. We have no relation with the people who have done it," he told a news agency.

Kishenji was asked about the accusation of police against Maoists in the case. “We have said earlier that we were not involved in the accident. The police can cook up their own stories," he said.

“We are fighting for the people and we will not do anything at their cost," added Kishenji who has remained withdrawn for a month.
