Mexico, Uruguay just need a draw

By Anmolg

Rustenburg: Mexico will take on Uruguay in their Group A clash at Rusternburg with both teams just needing a draw to go through the next round.

Mexico and Uruguay are equal on points with one win and one draw. A draw will be enough for both the teams to make it to the last 16.
Uruguay striker Diego Forlan however, is looking for a victory against the Mexicans so that Uruguay win group A and avoid a possible clash against Argentina.
He hopes that Uruguay can make it pass knockout stages and make it all the way till final stages. Uruguay have confirmed their side will be unchanged from the one which outclassed South Africa.

At the other end Mexico will be hoping to win as well. Mexican coach Javier Aguirre dismissed suggestions that his team were playing for draw with an agreement with his counterpart and said that the team will be playing for a win. Mexico will be without injured striker Carlos Vela and suspended defender Efrain Juarez. Coming into this clash, Mexico posted a famous win over France to win 2-0.

The teams might start off cautiously in a defensive mode and look for counter attacks as the game progresses.

A drawn result would leave Uruguay and Mexico both on five points, out of reach of both France and South Africa, and the Uruguayans would top the group on goal difference.

Players to watch out for:

Uruguay: Diego Forlan, Edinson Cavani, Luis Suarez

Mexico: Rafael Marquez, Carlos Salcido
