London, June 21 (ANI): A fan and singer-songwriter has penned an anthem in honour of British tennis star Andy Murray in the hope it will lift him to Wimbledon glory this year.
Neil Sturgeon, who releases Break Me next week, said he started writing the song in the summer of 2008 as Murray reached the final of the US Open.
The 41-year-old Glaswegian said: "I'm a huge tennis fan and have liked the game for a long time. But fter John McEnroe I didn't really support anyone else until Andy Murray. I watch every game he plays, but he's been going through a really sticky patch lately.
"I have a lot of confidence in him and he is one of the best grass court players in the world. It seems like a natural progression for him to get to the final this year," The Sun quoted him, as saying.
This is not Sturgeon's first venture into the sporting world, having had his work used on Sky Sports and live performances at the golf courses of Turnberry, Loch Lomond and Gleneagles. (ANI)
