New Delhi, June 20 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leaders are expected to meet on Monday to discuss the emerging political situation in Bihar following State Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's steps to embarrass it.
Kumar has cancelled Vishwas Yatra programmes in Paliganj citing that the constituency is represented by a BJP MLA.
On Saturday, Kumar had returned five crore rupees given to Bihar by Gujarat for 2008 Kosi flood relief work.
Senior party leader Shahnawaz Hussain said: "The BJP central leadership is keeping an eye on the political situation in Bihar."
"Our party president and other senior leaders are not in the capital. They will be here tomorrow and we will discuss the issue," he added.
Hussain said party president Nitin Gadkari would be apprised of developments in Bihar, including the return of Rs five core of flood money that was given to the State for Kosi flood relief in 2008.
Meanwhile, former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha has criticised Kumar's action as 'childish.'
If he (Nitish) does not want to continue with BJP let him clearly announce it. There is no use of doing this drama," Sinha said. (ANI)
