London, June 16 (ANI): Britain's top tennis star Andy Murray will not play the Davis Cup relegation tie against Turkey the weekend after Wimbledon, as he believes other players should gain the experience of playing, and hopefully winning Davis Cup matches without him.
"I love playing in the Davis Cup, my results would show that I do. It's something that I do really enjoy playing but it is important that we improve as a team and as a nation. I think we're at a level now where we can win matches without me playing," The Telegraph quoted Murray, as saying. urray believes Britain can defeat Turkey.
Murray also did not feature in the last tie, in March, when Britain were beaten by a team of Lithuanian teenagers and when John Lloyd became the first British captain to lose five consecutive ties. Lloyd subsequently resigned. (ANI)
