New Delhi, Jun 16: Jaswant Singh, former External Affairs minister is likely to return to BJP, revealed the party sources.
It has been nine months since he was expelled from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over his book praising Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah. There was no official word from the party regarding this matter, yet.
"Jaswant Singh is likely to return to the party fold and the decision is to be made by the BJP parliamentary board. The decision is expected this week itself," a BJP source said.
BJP general secretary Ananth Kumar said that the announcement will come from the party president if the party decides.
Singh was expelled at Shimla during the BJP Chintan Bhaitak in August last year, after the release of his book, 'Jinnah-India, Partition, Independence". It described Mohammed Ali Jinnah as secular and sought to blame Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Patel for the partition of the nation.
Jaswant Singh, the founder member of the 30-year old party, had recently said that BJP was in his blood.
