London: Former England footballer Paul Gascoigne is reportedly in 'good condition' after he was injured in a car accident.
According to ITN reports, the former England legend Gascoigne, famously known as Gazza was reported to be sitting up in the hospital and having a chat with his friends and family but is not expected to be discharged from the hospital very soon confirmed by a hospital source.
Gazzawho played for Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio and Rangers among others in an illustrious career was caught in a car accident in New Castle and was reportedly considered to be very serious but not critical after he was taken to the hospital soon after the wreckage.
He was a passenger in the car which is believed to have lost control and driven off the track when it eventually hit a signpost.
Witnesses said the motor was doing 60 to 70mph in a 30mph area. One witness said it bounced back into the road after the impact.
Northumbria Police spokesman had confirmed that the driver was a 37-year-old women driving under the influence of alcohol and she had two passengers including Gazza.
Since quitting football in 2004, Gascoigne has been blighted by drink problems and was arrested twice in two days for alcohol-related crimes in February.
