Swine Flu reports surge in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 14: H1N1, the highly contagious respiratory disease, surged in Kerala by the last one month. A 24-year old woman died of Swine Flu at the Medical College Hospital in Kottayam.
The victim was identified as Sheeja, the native of Cherthala. She got a pneumonia, though underwent the treatment after complaining of the respiratory problems.
The number of reported Swine Flu cases in Kerala in one month has increased by 40 by Monday, Jun 14, according to the H1N1 monitoring cell of the health department.
The state also reported other types of fevers including 21 dengue fever cases, seven rat fever (Leptospirosis) and two Chikungunya infections.
The reported HiN1 cases are from the districts including Kottayam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kannur, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Malappuram. The state has witnessed more than 45 deaths since the outbreak of the disastrous fever, last year.
