Bhopal tragedy: PM asks GoM to meet immediately
New Delhi, Jun 14: With the Congress-led UPA government facing severe criticism from various spheres on the Bhopal Gas Tragedy issue, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh stepped in and asked the designated Group of Ministers (GoM) to meet immediately.
Besides this, the GoM has has also recieved directive from the PM to submit its report to the Cabinet within 10 days.
As per sources, the ministers are expected to mull over various issues in connection with the case including the extradition of Warren Anderson, the main accused in the 1984 gas leak case and the then CEO of Union Carbide.
The GoM is also expected to consider the increament on the compensation given to the victims.
