Cape Town, June 14(ANI): Argentina coach Diego Maradona has revealed that his team's masterplan for this World Cup is to give the ball to striker Lionel Messi and hope for the best.
Argentina nailed a 1-0 win over Nigeria in their first group match, where Messi did not score, but played a major role in creating some scoring opportunities for his team.
"Football would not be beautiful if you couldn't see Messi do crazy things. I want Messi to be always on the ball," The Mirror quoted Maradona, as saying.eanwhile, Messi praised Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama for keeping him at bay with six fine saves.
"The keeper was phenomenal and I congratulate him. The important thing is we created chances. We are perfectly happy," Messi said.
"Before I came to South Africa I promised that the world would see a different Argentina. We know how bad we were in qualifying, but we have become stronger," he added. (ANI)
