Rooney says England fears no one, wants fans to back team's WC campaign

By Super Admin

London, Jun 12 (ANI): In a quest to end England's 44-year World Cup drought, ace striker Wayne Rooney has urged the entire nation to back the team against the United States.

Ronney, all set to take on Americans, urged fans: "Your support will drive us on to glory."

He asked fans to play their part, and said: "We're not scared of anyone. I'm sure the support from fans will drive us on."

"We've got the players and the quality to do well and succeed at the World Cup, no doubt. If we can be at our best we've definitely got a chance. If we were able to win it, I wouldn't be able to describe the feeling," The Sun quoted Rooney, as saying.

More than 25,000 fans are expected at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium for the clash.

Rooney vowed not to let fans down, saying that he aims to better his earlier performance at the World Cup.

"In the last World Cup I didn't really show enough of my quality and enough excitement, which I wanted to. This time I'm going to try and take my club form into England's matches - and try and help us win the World Cup," he said. (ANI)
