Islamabad, Jun.12 (ANI): With all four participating teams in the Asia Cup having players capable of winning matches for their side alone, there appear to be no clear favourites to win the trophy, believes Pakistan opening batsman Imran Farhat.

While describing hosts Sri Lanka and team India as the two strongest squads, Farhat pointed out that Bangladesh could also spell trouble for the other three Asian giants.

However, it is the clash with arch rivals India which Farhat is eagerly waiting for.

"I'm really looking forward to the tournament, especially the match against India on the 19th June. Sri Lanka and India are two very strong teams, and even Bangladesh cannot be written off either as they are dangerous opponents," Farhat told PakPassion.net.

"The Asia Cup is wide open, I believe there are no clear favourites, and any of the teams can win it, it's the team that plays the most consistent cricket that will lift the trophy. There should be some good contests in Sri Lanka, and Inshallah we will do our best to bring the title back to Pakistan," he added.

Fielding has been one of Pakistan's foremost concerns, and Farhat said the team has been making a concerted effort to address the problem in the ongoing training camp.

"We focused heavily on our ground fielding and catching in the training camp, the coaches have made us work very hard on that aspect of our game. Other areas were also worked on, but we made a concerted effort on our fielding," the left-hand opener from Lahore said.

Farhat also said that he was hopeful of winning back the confidence of selectors through his performance in the Asia Cup to be a part of the England bound squad.

"I am really looking forward to the tour of England; I hope the selectors give me the opportunity to play against two very fine sides -England and Australia," said Farhat, who averages just under 34 in Tests. (ANI)
