Patna, June 10 (ANI): A large number of youngsters here on Thursday staged a protest to highlight the issue of rampant unemployment in the State.
Organised by Inquilabi Naujawan Sabha (Revolutionary Youth Forum), the protest witnessed participation by hundreds of young men converging at Patna's popular Gandhi Maidan.
Raising anti-Bihar government slogans, the protestors took out their march till Governor's house. However, it was cut short by police.
The protestors which included students and other youngsters said that Bihar government had failed to prevent brain-drain of talented students from Bihar.
"The Nitish Kumar government of Bihar had promised employment opportunities to the youth of the state. It had also assured people that they would stop migration of talented students to other states. But no steps have been taken till now to fill the 6,000 vacant posts in the Bihar government. Some posts in education and health departments were filled, but that too on a contract basis. Closed down businesses could not be revived, and new businesses were also not set up. Large scale outflow of students still continues unabated in Bihar," said Kamlesh Sharma, Secretary of the Inquilabi Naujawan Sabha' (Revolutionary Youth Forum.
Sharma also said that in case the State government didn't not pay heed to students' or youngsters' demands, the forum would launch a State-wide awareness campaign against the Nitish Government.
The forum would also step up its campaign against the government in the wake of ensuing assembly polls in Bihar, warned protestors. (ANI)
