'We had the kitchen sink thrown at us,' says Indian American S. Carolina governor candidate

Washington, June 9 (ANI): The Republican primary race for the South Carolina governor's nomination is headed for a bruising runoff election after Indian American Nikki Haley, who is trying to become the state's first female chief executive, overcame accusations of marital infidelity.

Haley, a state legislator, fell just short of claiming an outright majority of votes and now faces a June 22 primary with Representative J. Gresham Barrett, a four-term congressman.We had the kitchen sink thrown at us," Haley said in an interview on Tuesday.
