Sarfaraz blasts PCB for 'grovelling around' Yousuf to end retirement

By Super Admin

Karachi, Jun.9 (ANI): Former Pakistan fast bowler has blasted the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for urging middle-order batsman Mohammed Yousuf to come out of retirement, so that the 'indefinite' ban imposed on him could be revoked paving his way to return to the national squad ahead of some major assignments.

Sarfaraz said instead of pleading to Yousuf, the PCB should look forward to injecting young blood in the national team.

"The PCB is grovelling around Yousuf as if he is a very great batsman and the team direly need his services right now. He is in the twilight of his career and the board should now try to bring in young blood instead of trying the players over the hill," The News quoted Sarfaraz, as saying.

"It shows how pathetically the board has been managed," he added.

Sarfaraz also criticised the board for picking up players like Shoaib Malik and Abdul Razzaq, saying the team needed young, energetic players rather than these old non-performers.

He also questioned Shoaib Akhtar's inclusion in the squad for the Asia Cup, saying it was doubtful whether the pacer would be able to cope with Sri Lanka's hot and humid conditions. (ANI)
