Goa death case: OSD's anticipatory bail rejected
Panaji, Jun 9: A local court rejected the anticipatory bail plea filed by Lyndon Monteiro, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to former Goa Tourism Minister Fransisco Pacheco.
Monteiro's had filed the bail plea after the police summoned him for question on Jun 6 in connection with the death of a friend of Pacheco.
Pacheco's 'close' female friend, Nadia Torrado (28) died in a hospital on May 30, 15 days after she tried to committ suicide by consuming poision.
While the crime branch, investigating into the case, suspects that Monteiro helped Pacheco destroy vital evidence, the OSD claims that his relationship with the NCP minister is resistricted to the professional sphere.
Monteiro, who is a close aide of Pacheco and the vice chairman of Goa Tourism Development Corporation, has been missing after the crime branch summoned him.
Pacheco, who resigned on Jun 5, is also still missing.
