Eight suspected Maoists arrested in Orissa
Rourkela, Jun 9: The eight suspected Maoists detained were arrested and handed over to Bonai police in Sundargarh district in Orissa, on Wednesday, Jun 9. They were picked up for questioning two days, before.
The Maoists got arrested were identified as Harinath Singh, Asanku Singh, Sankar Singh, Sabinder Singh, Krishna Chandra Saha, Debunath Singh, Dubha Oram and Rade Singh. They were produced before the court, where they remanded to jail custody for two weeks.
The suspected Maoists were detained on Monday, Jun 7. They have been accused of killing Sukra Oram, the BMS leader and a CRPF jawan. They also pirated the electronic voting machines from Kard polling booth during the last Assembly elections. They are also suspected for the disruption of NH-23 traffic twice, said the police.
The eight arrested, are the natives of Karda village under Chandiposh police limits in Bonai sub-division.
