London, Jun 8 (ANI): England boss Fabio Capello got furious over his team's performance after a dismal opening first half of the final World Cup warm-up against the Platinum Stars.
He stormed into the dressing room and lashed out at his lacklustre side before stomping out again.
Capello further showed his anger by making 10 substitutions for the second half, telling his players to remember why they are in South Africa, The Sun reports.
"I know it's a friendly and for charity but it is also a football match and you had better start treating it as one," Capello said.
England's players were stunned by the outburst, one of the most explosive in Capello's two years in charge.
Jermain Defoe, who scored England's opener after only three minutes, was one of those hauled off at the interval.
"To be honest, the manager wasn't happy with the performance in the first half. He was in and out so quickly but he made his point. But the manager is a great character. All he wants to do is win," Defoe said.
Capello had calmed down after the game, saying: "The important thing was that nobody got injured.
That was the only thing that counted. The rest doesn't matter. Tomorrow morning we train. In the afternoon, we'll go on a short safari to break up the schedule. It will be special if we can see some spectacular things." (ANI)
