Case against Anderson not closed: Veerappa Moily
New Delhi, Jun 8: Veerappa Moily, the Law Minister said that the case against Warren Anderson, the former Union Carbide chief Executive Officer, is not closed.
Moily said that the case is not closed as far as Anderson is concerned. He blamed the CBI officer BR Lall, who has the power to pursue Anderson case and reminded that Anderson can be extradited.
"The CBI has filed chargesheet. The courts then frame charges. There is one person here who has not responded to the summons or replied to the charges. He has absconded and was declared a proclaimed offender," Moily said on Tuesday, Jun 8. He added that it never mean that the case against Anderson is closed.
Warren Anderson, 89, lives in United States got declared as an absconder and did not subject himself to trial. The court did not mention about him during the verdict, on Monday Jun 8.
