The Spanish giants as of now are not prepared to make an offer, but the fact that Arsenal has named a price suggests that there is scope for negotiation.
“This is the news the men in charge at Barca wanted," The Sun quoted a Barcelona source, as saying.
“They now see the possibility of Arsenal cracking and are determined to get their man. They hope they can get an agreement at around the 35 million pound mark," he added.
Barcelona had earlier made a bid of 29 million pounds to Arsenal for their captain but the offer was turned down outright.
Arsenal had made it clear that they are not willing to sell Fabregas, spanish international at any cost and wanted Barcelona to respect their stance.
“Cesc Fabregas is under contract with the club until the summer of 2015. He is a highly valued member of the team and part of our future plans," the Arsenal statement read.
