Ex-England footie's wife fears a repeat of 2006 World Cup 'WAGs fiasco'

By Super Admin

London, June 6(ANI): England football legend Gary Lineker's wife, Danielle Lineker, reckons that the wives and girlfriends (WAGs) could shatter the Three Lions' hopes of glory by stealing the limelight from the players.

Danielle also believes that a repeat of the last World Cup "fiasco" that saw the WAGs run amok in Germany's Baden Baden would be a disaster.

"I do hope the WAGS keep it low-key. All the stuff last time must have been a distraction for the players," The Daily Star quoted Danielle, as saying.

"If they go to South Africa they should keep a low profile because at the end of the day the team have a job to do," she added.

Earlier, England manager Fabio Capello had banned all WAGs from joining the World Cup party.

Though, the players' families have accused the Football Association of deliberately shutting them out, Capello is desperate to avoid a repeat of the last World Cup in Germany where their boozy antics were blamed for ruining the team's chances of glory. (ANI)
