'Rookie' Pak pacer Mohammed Irfan eyeing national squad spot

By Super Admin

Islamabad, Jun.5 (ANI): Though disappointed at not being picked for the upcoming Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, rookie left-arm Pakistan pacer Mohammed Irfan is hopeful of making it into the national squad soon.

"Ups and downs are a part of life, and Allah will open doors for me in the future," Irfan said.

Irfan, who has been kept as a reserve for the Asia Cup, said he is pleased to see Shoaib Akhtar making a comeback in the national team after a long lay off.

"Shoaib bhai is a tremendous bowler and a match winner for Pakistan, it is great to see him back in the Pakistan team again," the 27-year old speedster told PakPassion.net.

Irfan also expressed the hope that despite selectors ignoring him for the Asia Cup, he would definitely be included in the senior team for the England tour.

"I am working hard at the NCA and Inshallah, I have very high hopes of being selected for the tour of England," he said. (ANI)
