London, June 4(ANI): The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has told counties to ensure that their 'cheer girls' at Twenty20 games do not show too much flesh.he directive was sent after cheer girls during a game between Sussex and Somerset wore skimpy black knickers and 'little else below the waist'.
ECB Twenty20 event manager Sally Brooks despatched an e-mail to marketing and PR bosses at each of the 18 counties, which said that revealing outfits might upset family sensibilities.
"Day one of the tournament went brilliantly at Hove. Just a suggestion for those of you providing dancers at your matches, please remember this is a family competition and costumes need to reflect this," The Sun quoted the e-mail, as saying.
"The shorts worn by the dancers at Sussex were a little too short! Please check your dancers are dressed suitably. I'm not advising they cover up completely, just tastefully," it added.
According to reports, match commentators have also been instructed against making cheeky references to the dancers. (ANI)
