London, June 3(ANI): Yorkshire fast bowler and hard hitting batsman Ajmal Shahzad reckons that he will have to wait for his England Test debut, and would not be included in the Old Trafford Test against Bangladesh on Friday.
Shahzad was in the XII for Lord's, but believes that after faster bowler Steven Finn earned rave reviews for his figures of nine for 187, it would be difficult for him.
"Finny has done superbly well and with his height he has something that Andy Flower [the team director] likes. Most definitely that could happen to me again, he could play ahead of me. He has been tried and tested and he has been successful," Timesonline quoted Shahzad, as saying.
"They know what they are getting with him and if they want that then that is what they will go with. I have not been tried yet, I am a fresh face on the scene so I can only show what I can do in the nets. I have had to be patient, but I hope I will have a chance to prove myself in a game. I am ready," he added.
Shahzad has missed out several times on a debut since landing a surprise place in the Test squad to tour Bangladesh three months ago.
However, an injury to England's other Yorkshire seamer, Tim Bresnan, has left him at the front of the queue to make it this time. (ANI)
