London, May 29 (ANI): Soccer star Fernando Torres has urged England coach Fabio Capello to partner Liverpool ace Steven Gerrard with Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney upfront at the World Cup.
"England should be praying Steven -Gerrard's calf problems prove to be nothing -serious as he is one of only two players who can make the country feared at the World Cup," The Express.co.uk quoted Torres as saying.
"There are maybe five players at the World Cup who can win a big game on their own - Stevie is one of them. He's in the same league as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, that's how good he is," said Torres.
"I prefer it when he plays further forward for England and supports Rooney. That is when England look at their most dangerous," he added.
Gerrard was forced to withdraw from training for a second consecutive day after calling overhead physio Gary Lewin to say he had a problem. The previous day he lasted just 30 seconds of a practice match before having his right calf and back massaged.
"Rooney and Stevie must have big tournaments. If they do then England should be very much feared," said Torres. (ANI)
