Mourinho vows trademark Real Madrid attack blitz next season

By Super Admin

Madrid, May 28(ANI): Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho, who is expected to be named the Real Madrid manager next week, is already vowing to take his team to new heights with his trademark attacking style next season.

Mourinho has told the Spanish club to make a 50 million pound bid for Chelsea stars Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard, and Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard.

"I prefer to play with attacking full-backs in the style of Ashley Cole, while both Gerrard and Lampard are great players who give everything," The Sun quoted Mourinho, as saying.

"I like to have some players who are in their 30s and in the final part of their careers. These are the players that you buy and do not recover the money, but if they give you good performances for two or three years you still get your money's worth," he added.

According to reports, Mourinho, who had talks with Real Madrid officials on Monday, has already finalized his summer targets with an expected 100 million pound budget at his disposal.

"My Madrid will always play well, attack and be winners. It will be a balanced team and one with its own identity, which will be set by me and my players," Mourinho said.

The 47-year-old further reiterated his dream of becoming the only coach to win the Champions League with three different clubs. "No player or coach has won the English, Italian and Spanish leagues before and I'd like to become the first person to do that," Mourinho said.

"I'd also like to be the first coach to lift the Champions League with three different teams," he added. (ANI)
