Miffed Rana Naved upset at being 'singled out' from list of 35 probables

By Super Admin

Islamabad, May 27 (ANI): Pakistan fast bowler Rana Navedul Hasan, who is currently serving a year's ban imposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is disappointed at being left out from the list of 35 probables for the upcoming Asia Cup, and has questioned the board's selection process.

Rana Naved is particularly upset over him being overlooked by the PCB when players like Shoaib Malik and Younis Khan, who were also banned and slapped with hefty fines by the board, were named in the probables list.

"They (Malik and Younis) are also banned and have appealed against their penalties. I am also under a ban and have appealed against it. So why I have been singled out," The Daily Times quoted Rana Naved, who is currently playing county cricket in England, as saying.

Naved, however, said that he would discuss with the selectors about the reasons behind him being not considered for the upcoming tournaments.

"May be I will get my chance. I have not given up hope. If I can celebrate at my selection, I can also accept that they (selectors) have not picked me this time," he said, adding: "My performance has been as good as some of the other players." (ANI)
