11 people die in Jammu and Kashmir road accidents

New Delhi, May 27 (ANI): At least eleven people were feared dead in three separate road accidents in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban and Samba Districts on Thursday.

Six people were killed on the spot and another critically injured, when a vehicle carrying seven persons skidded off the road and rolled down into a 700-feet deep gorge at Battery Chashma, in Ramban District on Thursday morning.

Four of the victims belong to Punjab.

According to J-K Police, two others have been identified as Riyaz Ahmed of Kupwara District and driver of the vehicle Mohammad Maqbool Bhat of Anantnag District in Jammu and Kashmir.

In another accident, three persons, including driver and cleaner, were killed when a truck overturned and rolled down in a gorge at Chanderkot in Ramban District on Thursday morning.

In the third accident, a retired Army officer Captain Trilochan Singh and his wife, Surjeet were killed when the motorcycle, in which they were traveling, was hit by a car at Sapowal in Samba District this morning. (ANI)
