By Super Admin

Mumbai, May 25 (ANI): Suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) Commissioner Lalit Modi on Tuesday hit back at Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Shashank Manohar and Secretary N Srinivasan, asserting that both should be removed from the proceedings against him.

"Shashank Manohar and Srinivasan have conflict of interest against me," said Modi in his e-mail to the BCCI.

"There should be an independent body to adjudicate the show-cause notice served to him by the BCCI," he added.

Modi further charged the BCCI President of playing an important role in the bid for the newly formed Kochi team.

"Manohar used my phone, e-mail to contact Sahara Group and Dainik Bhaskar on bids. Manohar was fully aware of details of TV rights to Sony-MSM. I have documentary evidence to support the latest charges," said Modi.

Earlier on May 10, the BCCI granted Modi five more days to respond to a showcause notice served to him on April 26.

Modi was given a showcause notice by the BCCI on charges of financial irregularity.

There are five main charges against Modi, ranging from receiving kickbacks for allotting TV broadcast rights to indiscipline and leveling baseless charges against the BCCI.

He is also facing charges of rigging the bidding of two new IPL teams, which were eventually won by Sahara and the Kochi IPL consortium and also for being a ghost owner in three IPL teams. .

Modi has claimed that he has submitted most of the relevant IPL documents.

They include all franchisee agreements, global media rights agreements, the global media rights packages, bid documents, media rights licensee agreements, eligibility letters of all bidders with details and all sponsorship agreements entered into by IPL. (ANI)
