Dr Singh rules out having differences with Sonia Gandhi
New Delhi, May 24 (ANI): The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh on Monday denied reports of him having a misunderstanding with Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
Addressing a press conference here on the completion of UPA II Government's first year in office, Dr Singh said he received constant advice and guidance from Sonia Gandhi.
"There is not an iota of mistrust or distrust between me and the Congress President," Dr Singh said.
"No question of a gap in thinking between the Congress President and me...She is the leader of the UPA and she is the President of the Congress Party and I am a Congressman," he added.
Dr Singh said he meets Sonia Gandhi once in a week to discuss political developments as well as issues related to governance.
"Invariably, we meet every week to discuss major issues. There is no basis to believe that there is no effective mechanism to deal with issues between the Congress and the government," Dr Singh said. (ANI)
