London, May 23(ANI): Dr. Geir Jordet, an associate professor at the Norwegian School of Sports Sciences, will offer some penalty tips to the England football team to help them cope with the 'disastrous' past involving the penalty shootouts.
Dr. Jordet has devoted years of his life to studying every shootout in World Cup, European Championship and Champions League history, and has worked with senior and junior teams in the Dutch national set-up.
He will now give some pointers to Fabio Capello's men in a documentary called 'Spot On' presented by former FA executive David Davies, which goes out tonight on BBC Radio, News of The World reports.
Among the things Jordet has discovered is that players who think it is all down to luck are likely to be more worried about a situation they cannot control and so more likely to miss.
He believes improving penalty-taking technique can increase a player's success rate by up to 15 per cent, but insists the mental side is more important. (ANI)
