New Delhi, May 21 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Friday visited a blood donation camp held in the national capital, New Delhi, to mark the 19th death anniversary of his father and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Rahul interacted with the blood donors at the camp organized by the Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress (DPYC), the youth wing of the Congress party.
Meanwhile, priests at a temple of Lord Ram in Gaya district of Bihar performed rituals for Rajiv Gandhi.
"This is a Narayana Bali ritual and is performed for the salvation of the soul. This is also stated in the Garuda Puran (Hindu holy text), that by performing this ritual one can attain salvation. We are performing this ritual for Rajiv Gandhi and his salvation," said Ramraj Pathak, a priest.
Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on May 21, 1991, by a Sri Lankan Tamil suicide bomber in revenge for his decision to send Indian troops to the island nation in 1987. (ANI)
