London, May 21(ANI): Former England footballer Graeme Le Saux claims that every single member of the Three Lions' squad will have to be at their best to win the World Cup.
"We've got a fantastic manager and some great players, so we just have to hope the whole squad combines and gels. It's important that the players on the fringes of the first XI are in the right frame of mind to put in great performances when needed," The Sun quoted Le Saux, as saying.
"If we're going to be successful in South Africa, it's clearly going to be about the squad and not just the regulars. I don't think you can rely on one player," he added.
The 41-year-old also believes that striker Wayne Rooney could be the difference, but Capello would not win matches without a system and a game plan.
"If it's just about Rooney, then we won't achieve anything - and that's with no disrespect to him, quite the opposite in fact. He's a key part of how we attack and score goals, but ultimately we're going to need other players to chip in," Le Saux said.
"And that in a sense is exactly what we have in the rest of the squad with the likes of Lampard and Gerrard. If you look at the other top teams, they all have great players, but there's a fantastic team and structure around them," he added. (ANI)
