Maoist bandh disturbs normal life
Ranchi, May 18: The two-day bandh announced by Maoists lead to the cancellation of some trains in Bihar and Orissa. The normal life was disrupted by the bandh, which started on Tuesday, May 18.
The bandh has been called in five states including Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal and Chattisgarh.
The five states, especially Chattisgarh, is going on a top alert during the 48-hours bandh due to Monday, May 17 Dantewada bus blast. Police personnel and security forces have been deployed at strategic places.
The Patna-Barkakhana Passenger and Garhwa-Singhreli trains were cancelled as a precautionary measure. Shaktipunj Express, Ranchi-Varanasi Express, Rajabera-Gomo Express, Tata-Jammu Tavi Express and Howrah-Jabalpur have been diverted via Mughalsarai. The train between Barasuan and Biramitrapur were also cancelled.
Long distance bus services were also disrupted in the Maoist-affected areas.
