FA chief's "entrapment" by attractive former PA could cost England FIFA WC bid

By Super Admin

London, May 17 (ANI): England's FIFA World Cup (WC) bid boss, Lord Triesman brazenly made several indiscrete remarks about match-fixing during the upcoming FIFA WC during an intimate dinner date with Mellisa Jacob, his attractive former personal assistant, possibly endangering England's chances of hosting the 2018 WC.

He made shocking claims of match-fixing during the WC, and accused Spain and France of conniving with the match referees by bribing them.

All these presumptuous statements were taped by Jacob and provided to a national newspaper.

England snapped into damage control mode immediately faxing apologies to France and Spain for the comments.

Triesman has since resigned from his position as Football Association chairman.

He has lashed out at Jacob, arraigning her for "entrapment".

"Entrapment, especially by a friend, is an unpleasant experience both for my family and me, but it leaves me with no alternative but to resign. A private conversation with someone whom I thought to be a friend was taped without my knowledge and passed to a national newspaper," the paper quoted Triesman as saying.

"In that conversation I commentated on speculation circulating about conspiracies around the world. Those comments were never intended to be taken seriously, as indeed is the case with many private conversations," he added. (ANI)
