Ooty flower show has over 500,000 blossoms on view
Udaghamandalm (TN), May 15 (ANI): The three-day annual Ooty Flower Show at Udaghamandalm in Nilgiri Hills of Tamil Nadu began on Friday.
Scores of visitors thronged the Botanical Gardens to see and rejoice different varieties of colourful flowers.
The visitors enjoyed flowers arranged in the shape of dinosaur, flower vase, vegetable carvings and various birds like the peacock and the duck.
Indeed, these creations happen to be the main attraction at this year's edition of the popular show.
"We are really enjoying the flower show and today is the opening day and we are really privileged to be here on this particular day; so, we plan to roam around, interact with people and everyone is happy, it's a nice day," opined Shivraj Badhra, visitor.
Over five lakh flowers such as Anthodium, Zerbera, Carnation, Birds of Paradise etc are on view.
However, the centre of attraction in this year's show is the Tamil Nadu Secretariat, which has been designed and created with 35,000 flowers and this marvel measures 22 feet in height.
"We have just now started the flower show and it's really attractive and the flowers are really beautiful, colourful ... it's mind blowing," said Priyanka, another visitor. Flowers have also been decorated in the shape of flower vase and this creative venture boasts of 12,000 flowers touching a height of 15 feet.
A white peacock decorated with 12,000 flowers is another major attraction for the kids.
Around two lakh visitors from all over the country are expected to visit this three-day flower show. (ANI)
