Mumbai, May 15 (ANI): Suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi on Saturday replied to the show cause notice of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) with documents comprising over 10,000 pages.

Modi's lawyer Mehmmood S Abdi submitted the reply and documents to the BCCI.

BCCI Chief Administrative Officer Ratnakar Shetty received the papers and documents on behalf of the Board. arlier, in an e-mail to BCCI secretary N. Srinivasan, Modi has said that he might not reply in person, but his lawyer Abdi would deliver the reply.

Modi has requested Srinivasan to depute some authorized person to "receive and acknowledge the documents by providing an adequate receipt."

The voluminous reply would now put the ball in BCCI's court as they first have to scrutinise the papers and then decide the future course of action after consulting their own lawyers.

Modi is said to have responded to all the charges and produced supporting documents and brochures.

The board's three-man disciplinary committee, comprising -its president Shashank Manohar, vice-presidents - Arun Jaitley and Chirayu Amin, would take a decision on the matter.

The panel is expected to meet in mid-June to decide on the issue.

On April 26, the BCCI had served a notice to Modi and given him 15 days (May 10 ) time to reply.

The BCCI later extended the time given to Modi till May 15.

The notice charges Modi of financial irregularity, but he has maintained that all decisions were taken collectively by the IPL Governing Council.

Modi is also facing the charges of receiving kickbacks for allotting TV broadcast rights and manipulating bids. (ANI)
