New Delhi, May 10: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which was expected to announce who would be the Chief Minister on Jharkhand on Monday, May 10, has said that the party has not reached a decision on the matter yet.
“There has been no decision on the Jharkhand CM yet. The BJP will be sending its team to Ranchi. A final decision will be taken only after meeting all Jharkahnd MLAs," BJP spokesperson said in a press briefing on Monday, May 10.
Earlier, the BJP parliamentary board met to decide who would take charge as the CM of Jharkhand. Former chief minister Arjun Munda and incumbent deputy chief minister Raghubar Das are the frontrunners for the post.
On Saturday, May 8, the party said that a BJP-led government will be formed in Jharkhand with the support from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and All Jharkhand Students" Union (AJSU).
The resolution was reached after JMM supremo Shibu Soren's son, Hemant Soren met BJP president Nitin Gadkari over the Jharkhand political crisis.
The state was thrown into turmoil after the BJP-JMM coalition fell apart as BJP took offense to Shibu Soren voting for Congress-led UPA on a cut motion moved in the Parliament.
