'Public Enemy No. 1' Modi ridicules BCCI

By Super Admin

New Delhi, May 8 (ANI): Suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi on Saturday ridiculed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and sarcastically suggested that he had emerged as its "public enemy number one".

Modi's reaction came after the BCCI had slapped second showcause notice on him for allegedly planning a 'rebel' Twenty20 league in England.

He was suspended as IPL commissioner following allegations of financial irregularities.

"It is ok it is part of life. I have been public enemy number one; it is all right, as far as the BCCI is concerned. ...... I have not gone anywhere.........I have only been suspended," said Lalit Modi at New Delhi airport.

Modi claimed he would reply personally every query in the showcase notice.

"We will reply to the show cause notice. It is going to be replied back in a few days ......Oh yes without doubt there is no problem...I will personally reply," added Modi.

Meanwhile, income tax authorities are probing the three-year-old IPL, valued at an estimated 4.1 billion dollars for alleged financial irregularities. (ANI)
