7 pilgrims killed in an accident on Agra highway
Agra, May 1: An accident on the Agra-Jaipur highway claimed the lives of seven pilgrims late on Friday, Apr 30.
The accident took place when a three-wheeler Tempo collided head-on with a Scorpio car. The pilgrims were travelling in the three wheeler, the police said on Saturday, May 1.
Ten people were injured in the mishap.
“Five pilgrims died on the spot while two others died in the SN Medical College emergency. The condition of four injured is critical," a police officer told a news agency.
The victims, hailing from Purani Galla Mandi of Kiraoli in Achnera, were on their way to Goverdhan in Uttar Pradesh"s Mathura district.
The police detained two of the four people travelling in the Scorpio while two others managed to escape.
