Charlotte (North Carolina, US), Apr.30 (ANI): Love rat golfer Tiger Woods was left all hot and steamy after finding the water twice on the 17th and 18th hole at the Quail Hollow Championship in a two-over-par 74.
Woods, 34, was left trailing leader Bo Van Pelt by nine shots, after his fellow American posted a round of 65.
Woods admitted: "I was struggling so bad today. I didn't know which way I was going to go, left or right."
According to The Australian, Woods managed to steady the ship in time to salvage a score that left him nine strokes adrift of first-round leader Bo Van Pelt and facing a second-round battle to make the cut.
Woods kept his notoriously volatile temper in check. There were no audible obscenities, no club throwing, just a frustrated golfer who looked anything but the world's top player.
"I try to be easy on myself (but) it can be hard," said Woods, who was greeted with extreme politeness by an unusually quiet gallery, which swelled to several thousand by time he finished shortly after noon. (ANI)
