The Chief Minister will be delivering the inaugural address at the first ever world Kannada Summit organised by Navika, which stands for North American Vishwa Kannada Association.
The summit will be held in Los Angeles between Jul 2 and Jul 4.
Addressing a press conference on the summit, Navika's President, Dr Sri Iyengar, said that the summit will form grounds for the meeting and mingling of great minds in the field of music, theatre, art, film, literature and business.
Navika hopes to achieve multiple goals with the upcoming week long-summit. The summit not only aims to facilitate an exchange of ideas between western and Indian medical experts, but also wants to promote exchange of knowledge between Karnataka university students and their American counterparts.
Non-resident Kannadigas will also be able to enjoy cultural exchange as Navika organisers set up a centre for the promotion of culture and heritage of Karnataka. A digital library with Kannada literature will also be made available to the Kannadiga diaspora in America.
In an laudable initiative, Navika will also be identifying and adopting backward rural villages to provide educational and medical support.
