Indian diplomat held for spying for Pak
New Delhi, Apr 27: A female diplomat posted at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad was arrested by the Delhi police allegedly spying for Pakistan.
Madhuri Gupta, working as a second secretary in the Press and Information Wing, has been accused of disclosing crucial information to Pakistan since 2007.
She was reportedly summoned back to India on Friday, Apr 23 under the pretext of preparing for the SAARC Summit.
Gupta's arrest has been confirmed by Home Secretary G K Pillai.
An FIR has been registered against her. The Ministry of External Affairs is expected to release an official statement on the case.
