Sanaa, Apr 26: One person was killed in a suicide attack, which was targeted at the British ambassador to Yemen.
"The ambassador was not hurt," a security officer informed.
The identity of the person killed in the attack is yet to be determined, the officer added.
While the officer said that the attack is "believed to be a suicide attack", the eyewitnesses of the blast, which was specifically targeted at the ambassdor's convoy, are certain that bombing was a suicide attack.
The blast occurred when the ambassador, Timothy Achille Torlot, was on his way to the embassy.
The eyewitnesses insist that they saw the bomber and claim that the attacker failed to detonate the explosives at the right time.
While the convoy passed by, the attackers body was torn into pieces, eyewitnesses told an international news agency.
